A readiness checklist for production data integration

2025-10-07 · Jeong Ha-yoon

Integration delays usually start before the software arrives. The tag inventory is stale, the product master has variant names that do not match the MES, or the shift calendar lives in a spreadsheet owned by one planner. None of those issues block a project permanently, but each one changes the first-month plan.

A readiness checklist should cover tag ownership, historian access, unit conventions, line naming and the update path for product variants. The goal is not to be perfect on day one. The goal is to know which assumptions need human confirmation before a dashboard number becomes trusted.

The most useful readiness sessions include controls, IT, production and quality in the same call. Each group owns a different part of the data chain. When all four groups sign off on the source-of-truth map, the implementation moves faster and the first dashboard review becomes a content discussion rather than a data dispute.
